In Japan the second generation ist went on sale on 30 July 2007, marketed via the Netz Store in the 150G and 150X trim levels. Starting in 2007 in Japan, G-BOOK, a subscription telematics service, was offered as an option, and the design was inspired by the 2006 Urban Cruiser Concept. This was the first model year of the Toyota ist (second generation, XP110), 2007 to 2016, which took over from the Toyota ist (first generation, XP60); the 2008 model year follows it.
