Early sales of the Raider were disappointing, at only one tenth of those of the Dakota, and dealers had a six month supply, so the company had to ask DaimlerChrysler to cut production. About 9,861 Raiders were built in 2005, and approximately 8,200 were sold in 2007, with a 4.7 liter PowerTech V8 of 230 hp and a 3.7 liter PowerTech V6 of 210 hp. The Raider name is recycled from the Dodge Raider SUV sold from 1987 to 1990, which was a rebadged Mitsubishi Montero.
