By 2007 the first generation Ka was approaching its replacement, still powered by the 1.3 litre Duratec petrol engine in the Ka, Ka Collection and LuxuryKa, while the StreetKa and SportKa had the 95 PS 1.6 litre eight valve Duratec. In December 2007 the Latin American Ka B402 was introduced in Brazil, designed and engineered in Brazil on the first generation chassis with Kinetic Design. The first generation Ka was a three door hatchback based on the Mark 3 Ford Fiesta platform.
