Lincoln introduced the production Zephyr in the fall of 2005 for the 2006 model year, sharing Ford's CD3 platform with the rebadged Fusion, Milan and Mazda 6, after presenting it in concept form at the 2004 New York show with Lincoln's split wing waterfall grille. The 2006 Zephyr started at 28,995 dollars. The Zephyr and LS were sold in parallel during 2006, the Zephyr's first model year and the last for the LS. It was a mid size, four door, five passenger luxury sedan with front or all wheel drive.
