In March 2006 the Everest had a major facelift, with the whole front and side body panels replaced to match the new Ranger, and a 3.0 litre TDCi diesel and a new five speed automatic transmission with an Active Shift on the Fly four wheel drive system. The 2.5 litre TDI model had ended production in February. The Everest was a seven seat SUV built on the Ranger pickup and sold mainly in the Asia Pacific region. In India the Everest was called the Endeavour, and the SUV had no Mazda counterpart.
