The Demio received its facelift on 13 April 2005, the main change to the first generation during its run. The car was still sold with ABS and electronic brake force distribution on every model and optional stability control, and the Japanese e-4WD system was used only as a traction aid and not to save fuel. European cars were still built by Ford in Valencia, and the Verisa remained the upmarket version in Japan.
