The Kijang Innova was introduced in Indonesia on 1 September 2004, replacing the station wagon versions of the Kijang. The E and G grades retained the three spoke steering wheel design from the second facelift fourth generation Kijang and the first generation Vios. This was the first model year of the Toyota Innova (first generation, AN40), 2004 to 2014, the first generation covered for the Toyota Innova; the 2005 model year follows it.
