A pink version of the StreetKa was produced to promote the 2004 Thunderbirds film, and was supplied by Ford to the movie producer; only eight pink StreetKas were produced, five in right hand drive and three in left hand drive. In September 2003 Ogilvy and Mather created advertisements for the SportKa that proved controversial and leaked on 1 April 2004. The Ka was sold in New Zealand until 2004. The first generation Ka was a three door hatchback based on the Mark 3 Ford Fiesta platform.
