There were no major cosmetic or mechanical changes for 2004. The Expedition Eddie Bauer Premier model was reintroduced after being absent from the 2003 trim line up, with monochromatic paintwork, blacked out headlamps and special alloys. A new Expedition XLT Sport model was added with dark shadow gray accents. The Expedition was made at the Michigan Assembly Plant in Wayne, Michigan. It shared the P platform with the F-150 but, unlike the F-150, used independent suspension on all four wheels.
