The 2004 TSX began the line in North America, shown at the 2003 Detroit show as a production model and on sale from April 2003. Its 2.4 litre K24A2 four-cylinder made 200 horsepower with variable valve timing, and it came with a six-speed manual or, at no extra cost in the United States, a five-speed automatic. Car and Driver put it on the Ten Best list for 2004, and SmartMoney named it the best-value sedan under 35,000 dollars.
