The Alphard debuted on 22 May 2002 as a large MPV for the Japanese market. It was offered as a seven or eight seater and stood as Toyota's flagship MPV from the start. This was the first model year of the Toyota Alphard (first generation, AH10), 2002 to 2007, the first generation covered for the Toyota Alphard; the 2003 model year follows it.
