The V6 powered Aurora was manufactured solely for the 2001 and 2002 model years, with production ending in mid 2002, and the last V6 powered Auroras were assembled on June 21, 2002. The Orion plant built 10,865 of them in 2002. The second generation did not sell as well as the original, overshadowed by General Motors' announcement in December 2000 that the Oldsmobile marque was to be phased out over the next several years.
