In 2002 the front clip was changed to match the R/T and ACR front clip, with the exception of missing a lower lip. A four speed automatic, the 41TE, was offered in the Neon for the 2002 model year. The Chrysler Neon was discontinued in Australia and Canada in 2002, and the 2002 R/T had a flat hammerhead spoiler. In Japan the Neon was replaced by the Chrysler PT Cruiser in 2002. Chrysler assembled the Neon at Belvidere Assembly in Illinois.
