2002 BMW X5

Automobiles

During 2002, following discontent about the design of the 2001 E65 7 Series, a more conservative appearance for the 2003 facelift of the X5 was chosen and frozen for production. In late 2001 a radical design update had been chosen, favoring the new brand design theme, but it was dropped. The 4.4i engine that was to power the facelifted X5 had debuted in the 2002 7 Series. The design change did not alter the plan for the facelift.
