The Special Edition Bullitt appeared in 2001, a mildly upgraded GT sold only as a coupe, with a three quarter inch lower suspension, subframe connectors, Tokico shocks, Cobra brakes, a new exhaust and intake and a factory rating of 265 horsepower. The V6 gained an Intake Manifold Runner Control system, raising its output to 193 horsepower. The dash center panel was redesigned so that double-din stereos, including an in-dash six disc changer, could be fitted.
