1999 Saturn S-Series

Automobiles

A redesign beginning with the 1999 model year gave the SC a small clamshell door on the driver's side to improve rear seat access, which Saturn claimed was the world's first three door coupe. All of the S-Series made in late 1999, sometimes called 1999.5 models, received improvements to both the SOHC and DOHC engines, and in California a different exhaust manifold with an upstream catalytic converter was used to meet the new CARB ULEV standards.
