In late 1998 Dodge introduced a revised front end for the 1999 model year Sport models with a restyled bumper, quad beam clear lens headlamps and a body color grille. Sales of this generation peaked at just over 400,000 in 1999 before declining against the redesigned Ford and General Motors trucks. An NV5600 manual transmission was offered in 1999 and 2000 Rams. The 1999 Ram was a second generation full size pickup.
