1999 Land Rover Discovery

Automobiles

The 1999 Discovery was the Series II, an evolution of the original rather than a new design, on the same 100-inch wheelbase ladder chassis with live axles and a 185-inch body. It offered the Td5 diesel and the 4.0-litre V8 from the Range Rover, with traction control and Hill Descent Control. The locking centre differential mechanism was initially not fitted, since Land Rover thought those systems made it redundant, and a seven-seat SE7 with all seats forward-facing was available.
