For 1999 the Tahoe and Yukon were largely carryover, with the Cadillac Escalade introduced as a counterpart of the Yukon Denali. For 1997 the dashboard had been upgraded with dual airbags, and the five speed manual transmission had been dropped after 1995. Following the debut of the GMT800 architecture for 2000, only the Yukon Denali, the Escalade and the Tahoe Limited and Z71 were produced on the old platform.
