In January 1998 the 100 series Land Cruiser was introduced to replace the eight year old 80 series, previewed in October 1997 as the Grand Cruiser at the 32nd Tokyo Motor Show. A suspension system combining Active Height Control and Skyhook TEMS was introduced that year. This was the first model year of the Toyota Land Cruiser (100 series, J100), 1998 to 2006, which took over from the Toyota Land Cruiser (80 series, J80); the 1999 model year follows it. Model year pages for the Toyota Land Cruiser run from 1951 to 2026.
