The 2.4 liter four cylinder engine was added as an option for the Breeze in 1998, available with the automatic transmission only, along with the Expresso trim level. The Breeze lacked certain features including an available V6 engine, alloy wheels, a leather interior, body colored door handles and fog lights, because Plymouth was to focus exclusively on value as the entry level JA car. It was a mid size four door sedan.
