In 1998 Mazda released a complete redesign of its B Series, and Ford adopted the Ranger name for both the Mazda produced and the Ford produced compact trucks sold worldwide, except in North America. The same year a Fiesta based Courier coupe utility began in Brazil, with a 1.3 litre engine. The Courier was a Ford nameplate used on very different vehicles in different places and years, from sedan deliveries to pickups and vans.
