The last model year for the Eagle Talon, as well as the Eagle division of Chrysler, was 1998. The second generation Talon continued with the 2Gb styling of 1997, in ESi, TSi and TSi AWD trims, manufactured at the DSM plant in Normal, Illinois. The Plymouth Laser version had been discontinued when the second generation arrived, but the Mitsubishi Eclipse continued, as the Talon mechanical twin. It was a sport compact hatchback coupe.
