The Paseo was discontinued in the US in late 1996, early in the 1997 model year, due to slow sales, and Toyota stopped selling the car in the United States in 1997. It continued in Canada, Europe and Japan. A very minor facelift came in December 1997 with a five speed manual for the 1.3 liter. It was model year 3 of 4 in the Toyota Paseo (second generation, L50), 1995 to 1999, coming after the 1996 model year and before the 1998 model year. Model year pages for the Toyota Paseo run from 1991 to 1999.
