The final revisions came in 1997, just over a year after the first, and all cars got slightly lowered suspension of about 10 mm and body coloured sills, rubbing strips, door handles and door mirror covers. The 600 Series of 1997 was a compact executive car produced by Rover, in its fifth year, just before the retro styled Rover 75 replaced it in 1999. The Rover Group produced the car. It was Rover's compact executive saloon until 1999.
