The Continental offered a Diamond Anniversary Edition in 1996 and a Spinnaker Edition in 1996, among its special editions. In 1995 and 1996 the car used air ride suspension on all four wheels. Its 4.6 liter V8 was shared with the Lincoln Mark VIII, slightly detuned for front drive, making 260 horsepower and 265 pound-feet for a zero to sixty time of 7.2 seconds. Buyers could choose between five and six passenger seating.
