For the 1995 model year the ES sedan was relegated to fleet sales, leaving only the LS sedan and the station wagon available to the general public. It continued in its original narrow body 1995 form until 2005 in some markets. All versions were available with either a five speed manual or a four speed automatic. The Japanese hardtop ended in 1995. In Japan this vehicle was sold at the retail chain Car Plaza. The Diamante's platform was also used for the sporty Mitsubishi 3000GT.
