The UK Limited Edition was produced from March to June 1995 to commemorate the end of right hand drive E34 M5 production, and 20 M5 Touring Elekta models were assembled for distribution in Italy in 1995. The E34 M5 ended in August 1995, and there was then a gap in M5 production, from 1995 to 1998, before the E39 arrived. The UK Limited Edition marked the end of right hand drive production. The E34 M5 ended in August of that year.
