Both of the commercial wagons received improvement with new DOHC 16 valve 1.3 liter 4E-FE and 1.5 liter 5E-FE engines, replacing the old SOHC units with the same displacement, in April 1994. The European market E100 Corolla liftback was sold in Australia as the Corolla Sprinter from 1994. It was the last model year covered for the Toyota Sprinter (seventh generation, E100), 1991 to 1994, and the Toyota Sprinter (eighth generation, E110) came next, following the 1993 model year. Model year pages for the Toyota Sprinter run from 1968 to 2000.
