The Sigma of 1994 was in its fourth year as a sedan sister of the Diamante, with a pillared six window body, sold in Japan and Europe until 1996. The Australian built station wagon version sold in Europe also carried the Sigma name, and the car formed the basis of the second generation of the Magna, of Mitsubishi Motors Australia, that went on sale in Australia. Sigma was a model name that Mitsubishi used on several vehicles based on the Galant and the Diamante.
