The fourth generation Mustang, code named SN95, was introduced in November 1993 and launched on 9 December 1993 as a 1994 model. Ford spent 700 million dollars improving the Fox platform, with MacPherson strut front suspension, a four bar rear link and four wheel disc brakes on every car. Bud Magaldi's styling borrowed cues from the classic Mustangs. The base car had a 3.8 liter V6 of 145 horsepower, the GT returned in January 1994 with a 215 horsepower 302, and the SVT Cobra used a modified 5.0 L V8.
