To comply with federal regulations the Aerostar body received a center brake light for 1994. After the 1994 model year the Eddie Bauer trim was discontinued as the trim line was consolidated into the cargo van and the Aerostar XLT. The Windstar was initially slated to replace it after 1994, but continued consumer and dealer demand for the Aerostar led Ford to sell both lines, and the Windstar was released in March 1994 as a 1995 model.
