The Impala SS badge came back in 1994, after a concept shown at the 1992 Detroit Auto Show designed by Jon Moss, and the production car was almost identical to the concept. The 1994 Impala SS went into production on February 14, 1994 at the Arlington Assembly plant in Texas, and for that model year it was available only in black with a gray interior. The Impala SS had a standard 3.08 rear gear, a limited slip differential and a suspension one inch lower, with 17 inch brushed aluminum wheels and 255/50ZR17 all season tires.
