For the 1994 model year the Caprice received two new V8 engine replacements, and Chevrolet offered an optional detuned version of the fourth generation Corvette's LT1 350 cubic inch V8 rated at 260 horsepower. The LT1 was optional in the 9C1 police packages and standard on all wagons, and the 1994 interior was redesigned with a Camaro steering wheel, a digital speedometer and a front passenger airbag.
