The 1993 revisions removed the rear fender skirts on the sedan in favor of more open wheel wells, though the station wagons retained their skirted wheel wells. The styling of the final B body Caprice was not well received by critics and it did not hold on to high annual sales numbers, with roughly half from fleet sales. It was criticized as a beached whale and an upside down bathtub, and later nicknamed the bubble Caprice.
