Finally, in 1993, with the economy recovering and oil prices stabilised after the Gulf War, the Verada's V6 engine was offered on the Magna for the first time. The Magna of 1993 was in its third year of the second generation, a mid size sedan and wagon built by Mitsubishi Motors Australia and exported as the Diamante. The Magna was developed as a replacement for the Mitsubishi Sigma, with each generation derived from Japanese platforms re engineered for the Australian market and conditions.
