The wide body XV10 reached North America in October 1991 as a 1992 model and automatic became the only gearbox on all but the base and sport Camrys. Two new trims arrived, the luxury XLE and the sporty SE, a seven seat station wagon followed in March 1992, and the car made the Car and Driver Ten Best list for 1992 and 1993. This was the first model year of the Toyota Camry (third generation, XV10), 1992 to 1996, which took over from the Toyota Camry (second generation, V20); the 1993 model year follows it.
