To reduce confusion GMC renamed its full size SUV the Yukon for 1992, leaving the Jimmy name exclusive to the mid size model. General Motors moved from the Rounded Line C/K chassis to the GMT400 architecture first introduced for 1988, and GMC reintroduced the full size Jimmy as the Yukon, while Chevrolet retained the Blazer nameplate for its full size model and renamed it Chevrolet Blazer for 1993.
