For 1992 the Aerostar received its second and most substantial exterior update, with the Ford Blue Oval relocated to the top slot of the grille and sealed beam headlights replaced by replaceable bulb composite units. The interior was revised too, with legible instruments, controls shared with the redesigned 1992 Econoline and a column shift automatic transmission, and leather seats became an option. The Aerostar Sport option package was introduced.
