1991 Mitsubishi Minica

Automobiles

In May 1991 an automatic option was added to the Minica Dangan ZZ. The van models of the Minica gradually lost importance as their tax advantages were whittled away and buyers increasingly went for the passenger models. The Dangan ZZ had the world first mass produced five valve per cylinder engine, with double overhead cams and a turbocharger. Sales of the fifth generation had dropped to under 27,000 cars in 1988, while almost 77,000 Minicas were sold in 1989.
