The Mazda Sentia was introduced in Japan in 1991 as the largest Mazda of the era and the flagship of the brand, replacing the Luce on the Mazda H platform, with a 3.0 liter V6 engine. It was also sold at the Efini channel as the Efini MS-9, with the optional items of the Sentia as standard, and as the 929 abroad. It had a front midship layout with the engine behind the front axle, and speed sensitive four wheel steering.
