In Australia the hatchback was badged as a Lancer in 1990, because the original Mirage, sold there as the Colt, remained on sale until 1990. The fifth generation Lancer was in its third year, and Japanese Lancers were sold in the Galant Store channel as five door liftbacks. Colt Lancer and Mirage names were still used in various markets for the same car. The Lancer was marketed under many names including Colt, Mirage and Eagle Summit in various countries.
