In 1990 the base New Yorker was replaced by the New Yorker Salon, essentially a rebadged Dodge Dynasty with a waterfall grille insert with fine vertical bars, and it was marketed as the Chrysler Dynasty in Canada. All models carried a new Chrysler built 3.3 liter V6 engine from this year on, with power up to 147 horsepower and torque from 171 to 183 pound feet, and a driver's side airbag was made standard.
