The series version of the Sera appeared at the 1989 Tokyo Motor Show, a year after it had debuted as the Toyota AXV-II concept car in near production form. The car is noted for its mostly glass roof canopy and its butterfly doors. This was the first model year of the Toyota Sera (single generation, EXY10), 1989 to 1995, the first generation covered for the Toyota Sera; the 1990 model year follows it. Model year pages for the Toyota Sera run from 1989 to 1995.
