For 1988 the Nova added rear shoulder belts, a rear window defogger and an AM FM stereo radio as standard equipment. Chevrolet introduced a sport model, the Nova Twin Cam, fitted with the double overhead cam 1.6 liter four that raised output to 110 horsepower, 36 more than the standard engine.
