The sixth generation Sprinter was shared with the sixth generation E90 Corolla range, introduced in May 1987. The E90 sedan and Cielo liftback were introduced first in May 1987 with three petrol engine options, a carburetted 1.3 liter 2E, a 1.5 liter 5A-F and a fuel injected 1.6 liter 4A-GE. This was the first model year of the Toyota Sprinter (sixth generation, E90), 1987 to 1990, which took over from the Toyota Sprinter (fifth generation, E80); the 1988 model year follows it. Model year pages for the Toyota Sprinter run from 1968 to 2000.
