In August 1986 the Lancer Wagon had a minor change that changed the front grille and the side turn signal lamps, and the gasoline engines became Cyclone engines, and a four wheel drive model, a full time four wheel drive, was added. In October 1986 the Fiore had a minor change together with the Mirage. The Lancer Fiore of 1986 was in its fourth year as a sedan. The Lancer Fiore was sold beside the rear wheel drive Lancer EX until 1987.
