The XR250R RFVC engine had its bore and stroke changed to 73 mm by 59.5 mm in 1986, and that year a single large carburetor replaced the pair of progressively opening ones used in 1984 and 1985. For the 1986 model year Honda reverted the XR200R to the two-valve engine that had powered it before 1984, and variations of that engine powered the XR200R until the model was dropped. Neighbouring model years are linked from this page.
