The Mitsubishi Magna was produced between 1985 and 2005 by Mitsubishi Motors Australia Limited. The Magna won the Wheels Car of the Year title in 1985, with the judges highlighting its value for money. At launch in April 1985 the TM series included the base GLX, the mid range SE and the high end Elite. The Magna was developed as a replacement for the Mitsubishi Sigma, with each generation derived from Japanese platforms re engineered for the Australian market and conditions.
