On 30 November 1984 production of Capris for the European market stopped, and from then on the Capri was made only in right hand drive for the British market. The normally aspirated 1.6 and 2.0 liter versions were renamed Lasers, a new trim level that added a full instrument pod, leather gear lever and steering wheel, four spoke alloy wheels, an electric aerial and colour coded grille and mirrors.
